Overview

We are currently seeking a skilled electrical engineer to join our team at First Military Recruitment Ltd. This role involves performing preventative and emergency maintenance work across various sites.

The successful candidate will be required to work on a 4 on 4 off basis, with 12-hour shifts from 5:00am to 5:00pm followed by 4 days off.

This is an excellent opportunity for ex-military personnel or individuals with relevant experience in electrical engineering to apply their skills in a challenging environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provide technical analysis and feedback on daily issues as they arise.
  2. Perform high-level static and dynamic maintenance on all equipment.
  3. Maintain Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards at all times.
  4. Assist the Engineering Manager in ensuring site compliance with Safety, Health and Environmental legislation.
  5. Coordinate activities during emergencies such as Fire Alarms or Chemical spillages.
  6. Ensure targets are met using technical support in correcting, preventing, and eliminating problems.

Requirements:

  1. A formal engineering apprenticeship and relevant academic qualifications are essential for this role.
  2. Proven hands-on mechanical and electrical experience is necessary.
  3. High self-motivation and enthusiasm for achieving exceptional results are required.
  4. The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team is crucial.
  5. Experience working on steam boilers, compressors, and associated pipe work is highly desirable.
  6. An understanding of continuous improvement would be an advantage, enabling the successful candidate to work with the engineering team to drive change from a reactive culture to a proactive culture.

Benefits:

The salary for this position is estimated to be around £30,000-£40,000 per annum, depending on experience.
