Senior Production Manager Job Description

**Job Summary**

We are seeking an experienced Senior Production Manager to join our client's team in Lockerbie. As a key member of the leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing all production operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality control in the timber processing sector.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Manage a large team within the Production department, reporting to the General Manager
* Oversee all primary production operations across 2 sawmills and log yards at our client's site in Lockerbie
* Focus on operational output and efficiency, quality, and safety across the entire processing of timber from the log yard to the initial stages of sawmilling
* Ensure safety regulations are adhered to throughout all processes
* Maintain high levels of quality control
* Line management and leadership for managers and supervisors of both mills and their respective teams
* Drive continuous improvement to improve operational effectiveness, efficiency, and increase output using Lean principles
* Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth operation
* Report to senior management on production status and issues

**Requirements**

* Highly experienced production manager operating as part of a senior leadership team
* Substantial experience in a manufacturing environment
* Experience of continuous improvement in a production environment, with a successful track record in implementing successful change initiatives
* Previous management and leadership experience, with a proven ability to motivate and mentor others
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to positively influence from the factory floor to Directors
* Deep understanding and practice of Health & Safety legislation
