We maintain a 24/7 service, including fault repairs, maintenance, and new connections, working with underground cables, overhead lines, and substations.

About the Role

This apprenticeship programme takes approximately three years to complete, during which you'll learn from experienced professionals and achieve a City & Guilds Level 2 Qualification in Electrical Engineering. You'll start with 12 weeks of induction at one of our training centres, followed by on-the-job training and development under the guidance of experienced Jointers.

  • Carry out excavation, cable laying, reinstatement, and fault location on LV cables
  • Help with network operations, connect generators and services, and organise your own projects
  • Construct distribution substations, excavate, lay, and joint cables, and terminate cables to plant
  • Carry out routine inspection, locate faults, and repair underground cables and equipment
  • Record asset details and positions

To succeed in this role, you'll need strong communication skills, the ability to work in all weather conditions, and a commitment to learning and growth. We require GCSE English, Mathematics, and Science qualifications or equivalent experience. With an estimated salary of £17,649 per annum, increasing as you gain experience, this apprenticeship programme offers a competitive package and opportunities for career advancement.
