Production Engineer | Space | Chelmsford

At the forefront of technological innovation, our client is a global leader with a stellar reputation, specializing in the development of cutting-edge products for the scientific, satellite, and space industries.

As a key member of the Space Imaging Team in Chelmsford, you will be responsible for developing high precision silicon assembly and providing onward support to manufacture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop new and existing Probe capabilities for the testing of CCD / CMOS Wafers
  • Collaborate with Production Engineers to ensure DFM (design for manufacture) is optimized
  • Assist with development and writing procedures for the prototyping of new products
  • Continuously improve existing manufacturing processes and work instructions, working with the wider production/manufacturing team
  • Generate SAP ME routings from the manufacturing flow diagrams
  • Ensure all documentation is confirmed through Configuration Control Boards (CCBs)
  • Manage and optimize operations flow (information and production flow)
  • Assist with production trials and ensure all relevant documentation is completed
  • Work to existing NPI processes
Requirements:
  • Experience of Production/Manufacturing as an Engineer or Technician
  • Experience of developing manufacturing processes
  • Experience of working in a project manufacturing environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with documented results
  • The ability to work effectively in a team
  • Self-motivation
  • Attention to detail
  • HNC in Engineering or Physics or equivalent experience
  • Desirable skills:
  • Experience within an Electronics product manufacturing environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
