We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Structural Engineer to join our team at Strata Construction Consulting. As a key member of our structural engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of major projects and programmes across a wide portfolio of water frameworks.

In this role, you will be responsible for leading the structural delivery of projects encompassing water retaining concrete structures, dams/reservoirs, concrete and steel buildings, site inspections, and assessment of existing structures. You will need to have expertise in concrete, steel, and masonry design.

As a senior member of the team, you will also provide mentoring and guidance to more junior members of the team, helping to develop their careers. You will have the opportunity to work on some of the best projects in the water sector and contribute to the growth and development of our team.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in structural engineering, with experience in conducting structural analysis and design for concrete, steel, and masonry structures. You will also need to be proficient in structural analysis and design software, such as Tedds, STAAD.PRO, Robot, or similar FEM analysis software, and have experience working in a 3D design environment.

We are looking for a confident communicator who can explain engineering concepts clearly and simply to a range of stakeholders. You will need to have a strong understanding of the water sector and be able to lead and manage structural engineering projects, ensuring quality and adherence to timelines.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the structural delivery of projects across a wide portfolio of water frameworks
  • Conduct structural analysis and design for concrete, steel, and masonry structures
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to junior members of the team
  • Work with a range of stakeholders, including clients, colleagues, and contractors
  • Ensure quality and adherence to timelines on structural engineering projects

Requirements:

  • MEng or BEng in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Strong background in structural engineering
  • Experience in conducting structural analysis and design for concrete, steel, and masonry structures
  • Proficiency in structural analysis and design software, such as Tedds, STAAD.PRO, Robot, or similar FEM analysis software
  • Experience working in a 3D design environment
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
