We currently employ over 500 people across eight sites in the UK, with specialisations including software engineering, underwater robotics, radars, AI, and armed forces training.

As a Senior Test Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and communicating test cases to verify and validate requirements across electro-mechanical systems. You will manage workload within the Test Engineering team and external 3rd parties, and be responsible for closure of workload packages derived from requirements analysis.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Defining the design of test jigs, harnesses, and software to allow execution of test cases.
  • Implementing data processing/filtering software to extract relevant results into databases/analysis software packages.
  • Managing internal test facilities, including test tanks, ovens, pools, and lifting equipment.
  • Liaising with external test facilities, including EMC, vibration, and pools.
  • Fault finding and failure analysis.

Essential skills include:

  • HNC or Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Competent in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
  • Working knowledge of Mechanical Engineering principles.
  • Working knowledge of Software principles in relation to products - embedded and associated tool chains.
  • Competent and able to use Microsoft Office to a high level.
  • Experienced and high-level competence with National Instruments LabView and TestStand software tool chains within a test and measurement environment.
  • Experienced with creating/modifying software scripts/programs in languages such as Python, Visual Basic, C, C++, etc.
  • Min 3 years in a test-focused role, or within test equipment development.
  • Proven experience in data capture and analysis.
  • Proven experience working on multi-disciplinary systems (electrical, mechanical, software).

Desirable skills include:

  • Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
  • Formal qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Formal qualification in Software.
  • Experienced with working with system engineering/project management tools - EA/DOORS/etc.
  • Experience in the offshore and/or subsea industry.
  • Expert/advanced user of Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with data archiving/controlled repositories management.
