Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and management to the school, ensuring the effective implementation of our strategic plan.
  • Promote high expectations and standards through the provision of professional advice, reviewing professional needs, and supporting continuous professional development of colleagues.
  • Take responsibility for providing strategic leadership for curriculum development, learning, and teaching, and meeting learners' needs.
  • Oversee improvement planning and quality assurance, ensuring that our school meets the highest standards.

  • Work in partnership with parents, other professionals, agencies, and other schools to ensure the best possible outcomes for our students.
  • Take overall responsibility for the management of health, safety, and well-being.
  • Meet and maintain the professional standards set by the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS) Code of Conduct and participate in the Scheme of Professional Update.

Requirements

  • Appropriate teaching qualification.
  • Full General Teaching Council (Scotland) Registration in the appropriate subject/sector.
  • PVG scheme membership.
  • Standard for Headship (if applicable).
