We are partnering with a leading Higher Education institution in the West Midlands to appoint a Head of Information Compliance on a permanent basis.
This role offers a competitive salary in the region of £45,000 to £54,000 per annum and hybrid working arrangements, with 2 days per week spent working from home.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and ensuring high levels of compliance with GDPR, SAR, FOIA, and other relevant legislation. They will provide high-quality advice on GDPR/data protection and FOI compliance, including drafting and negotiating contracts involving the processing of personal data.
The role will also involve leading on key agreements, such as DPIAs and Data Sharing Agreements, and continuously improving GDPR and FOIA compliance across the institution. This will include ensuring compliance with the University's ROPA, DAR, Data Retention Policy, and related statutory requirements.
The ideal candidate will be a Qualified Solicitor or have strong experience working within Legal Services and answering legal queries. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal departments and stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be responsible for line managing, supervising, and mentoring 2 direct reports. They will also be expected to draft and develop frameworks, policies, and procedures, and develop training in relation to good practice on data protection and records management.
