Higher Apprenticeship Programme

We are seeking ambitious individuals to join our Higher Apprenticeship Programme at National Grid plc, a leading electricity distribution business in the UK. As part of this programme, you will work towards becoming an Electrical Designer, achieving a higher-level qualification, and earning a competitive starting salary of £25,642, increasing as you gain experience.

The training program provides on-the-job training and formal courses held in one of our Training Centres. You will develop your knowledge, skills, and behaviours to become a skilled professional in the field of electrical engineering. The role requires a strong foundation in maths and science, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills.

You must hold a GCSE in English AND Maths (Grade A*-C/9-4) and meet the minimum entry criteria of A Levels in Maths (Grade A*-C) AND a Science (Grade A*-C), or HNC/HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, or Degree in Maths, Physics, Electrical/Electronic or Mechanical Engineering.
