Job Summary: As a Graduate Claims Handler with Step Recruitment Limited, you will support seasoned specialists in commercial dispute resolution, building relationships, guiding clients, and negotiating settlements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Building Relationships: Establish strong connections with lawyers, supply chain & logistics companies, and other industry professionals to facilitate effective communication and negotiation.
  • Guiding Clients: Offer expert advice and support to ensure clients receive top-notch service.
  • Organising and Negotiating: Effectively manage and negotiate settlements based on legal and commercial terms, ensuring timely and satisfactory resolutions.
  • Documenting: Prepare and handle necessary paperwork and correspondence, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Processing new claim notifications and investigating cases (like Salvage, Recovery, and General).
  • Reviewing and assessing cases to provide guidance (in English and German).
  • Collecting and organising documents for submission to various parties.
  • Negotiating settlements based on legal and commercial terms.
  • Ensuring top-notch service to clients.
  • Supporting marketing efforts for the department and company.
  • Maintaining systems updated in a 'paper-light' environment.
  • Establishing strong working relationships with industry professionals.

Requirements:

  • Recent graduate with an undergraduate degree or equivalent; a Law degree is beneficial but not essential.
  • Fluent written, reading, and spoken German.
  • Strong organisational skills and good time management abilities.
  • Persuasive communicator, both in writing and speaking.
  • Negotiator who can think on their feet.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Team player who can also work independently.
  • Friendly and helpful individual.

Estimated Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience.
