Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our team at Lifelancer, a talent-hiring platform in Life Sciences, Pharma, and IT. The successful candidate will be part of a British Heart Foundation funded project focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms of Long QT Syndrome (LQTS).

About the Project

LQTS is a genetic disorder that increases the risk of life-threatening cardiac events. It affects approximately 1 in 2500 people, causing seizures, fainting, and potentially life-threatening arrhythmias. Our project aims to provide new insights into the molecular mechanisms of LQTS and inspire new therapeutic strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on the molecular mechanisms of LQTS using a multi-disciplinary approach.
  • Collaborate with the project team to design and implement experiments.
  • Analyze data and draw conclusions on the molecular mechanisms of LQTS.
  • Communicate research findings through publications and presentations.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have a PhD degree in Biochemistry, Physiology, Cell Biology, or a related discipline. Experience working with proteins, confocal microscopy, or patch-clamp electrophysiology would be desirable.
