Nonprofit Audit AAT Trainee Programme

Moore Kingston Smith is committed to providing a comprehensive training programme for aspiring accounting professionals. Our Level 4 apprenticeship offers a unique opportunity to gain an AAT Level 4 Diploma in Professional Accounting while working with a variety of nonprofit clients.

We are an accredited training firm, dedicated to delivering high-quality training in a supportive and friendly environment. Our award-winning nonprofit team provides comprehensive auditing and accounting services, as well as advice on governance and strategy.

As an AAT Audit Trainee, you will be responsible for conducting audit fieldwork, reviewing accounts, drafting corporation tax computations, and providing recommendations for improvements to clients' financial systems and controls.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Conducting audit fieldwork on behalf of nonprofit clients, with support from the wider audit team.
  2. Reviewing accounts in accordance with Financial Reporting Standards and legal requirements.
  3. Drafting basic corporation tax computations.
  4. Drafting recommendations for improvements to clients' financial systems and controls.
  5. Supporting with drafting of close-out audit meeting agenda and points for discussion.
  6. Maintaining knowledge of ISA requirements and MKS internal policies in producing audit files.
  7. Demonstrating a solid understanding of double entry accounting/bookkeeping.
  8. Attending client gatherings or seminars on an ad hoc basis.
