Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Amenity Services Officer to join our team at Argyll Bute Council.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision and management of all activities in roads maintenance, parks, open spaces, cemeteries, refuse collection, street cleansing, refuse disposal, and Council-operated public conveniences on the Isle of Islay.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage the maintenance of roads, parks, and open spaces.
  • Oversee the collection and disposal of refuse and recyclables.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of public conveniences.
  • Undertake winter maintenance and emergency work as required.
  • Assist in the preparation of standby, overtime, shift work, or call-out rotas.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will possess excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. They will have a strong understanding of health and safety protocols and be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and the public.
