About the Job

As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of waste management and recycling processes within the waste transfer station.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Controlling production input and output to optimize processes and manage expectations
  • Monitoring on-site health and safety, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation
  • Controlling budgets and attending meetings to drive business growth
  • Direct interface with clients to resolve customer concerns and improve customer satisfaction
  • Improving site layout and operations to enhance efficiency and productivity
  • Producing and reporting to management as required
  • Sampling and analysis of waste to inform operational decisions
  • Developing and implementing operational policies to drive continuous improvement
  • Managing and developing a team of MRF staff to achieve business objectives
  • Building strong relationships with customers to drive repeat business and customer loyalty

Person Specification

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional with:

  • Current WAMITAB level 4 and relevant machine tickets
  • Strong commercial understanding of waste recycling and management
  • Knowledge of relevant health and safety policies and procedures
  • Excellent people management and communication skills
  • Ability to work proactively and constructively in problem-solving and conflict management
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and prioritize workloads
  • Demonstrated understanding of customer expectations and a commitment to exceeding them
