We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Programme Client to join our team at the Department for Transport. As a key member of our programme delivery team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of our Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) programme.
About the RoleThe TRU programme is a multi-billion-pound enhancement of the key east-west rail route between York and Manchester via Leeds and Huddersfield. As Senior Programme Client, you will be responsible for monitoring the performance of the programme and working closely with our industry partners to identify emerging risks and issues.
You will also be responsible for analysing programme schedule and financial data, and for presenting this information to senior leaders. In addition, you will hold delivery partners to account to ensure best outcomes for the UK taxpayer.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership: acting as the champion for the projects in the West of the route, working with industry partners to unblock any barriers to success.
- Clienting: ensuring the client's requirements for the project are reflected in all engagement with the TRU Enterprise.
- Governance and Assurance: applying effective application of portfolio and programme governance to support robust decision-making.
- Stakeholder Management: building and maintaining working relationships with key partners within the Department, other Government Departments, Network Rail, Train Operators, and other delivery organisations.
- Risks & Issues: identifying, monitoring, escalating and managing strategic risks and issues.
- Communications: representing the Department's priorities in the rollout of strategic communications for the programme.
