About the Role

ERT is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to provide expert-level support for its Satellite Control missions. This position involves planning, coordinating, and executing tasks related to network engineering, including routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and implementation of technical refreshes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain network infrastructure hardware and software to ensure optimal performance.
  • Analyze and resolve operational problems in LAN/WAN infrastructure.
  • Support integration efforts for architectural improvements, new subsystems, migrations, and upgrades.
  • Document configuration changes in the configuration management system.
  • Monitor and report device health, status, bandwidth utilization rates, uptime, outages, and anomalies.
  • Provide on-call and after-hours support as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in leading network engineering teams.
  • Knowledge of fault-tolerance and high-availability solutions, stateful failover, open standards solutions, system performance, and Continuity of Operations (COOP).
  • Expertise in Next-generation firewalls (NGFW), security zones, and defense-in-depth.
  • Ability to configure, optimize, and troubleshoot routing protocols including OSPF and BGP.
  • Familiarity with cabling standards such as TIA/EIA, ISO/IEC, IEEE, and others.

Benefits and Compensation

This role offers an estimated salary of $110,000 - $140,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. ERT provides comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, and 11 paid federal holidays.

Location and Work Environment

The work will be completed on-site at the NOAA Satellite Operations Facility (NSOF) in Suitland, MD. This position may be eligible for a flexible work arrangement.
