Your Team

The Chemical Regulatory Compliance team at WSP comprises professional scientists and experts in chemical and related regulations. Our predominantly UK-based team collaborates with other groups around the world to deliver projects globally.

Most of our projects focus on securing chemical registrations for our clients in the UK, EU, or internationally. These projects are primarily desk-based, although travel may be required for client meetings, negotiations, or site audits.

We work with a diverse range of international clients across the chemical and technology industries. Our clients include healthcare companies, specialty chemical manufacturers, cosmetics manufacturers, and machine and automotive manufacturers. This diversity often requires flexible delivery solutions, whether through supply chain management or alternative testing methods like NAMs and QSAR, to meet the requirements of regulations such as REACH.

This role will report directly to the Chemical Regulatory Compliance Technical Director.

The Chemical Regulatory Compliance team has experienced significant growth over the past year and continues to expand as chemical regulations evolve, particularly in the areas of UK REACH and EU REACH 2. This presents an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing team delivering high-quality projects to a variety of clients.

  2. Study Monitoring and Project Management: You will study monitor and project manage ecotoxicology study packages with third-party CROs.
  3. Maintain Technical and Regulatory Understanding: You will maintain a high level of technical and regulatory understanding, staying up-to-date with the latest developments to provide excellent service to clients through continuous professional development (CPD), self-led learning, and training courses.
  4. Develop the Ecotoxicology Offering: You will contribute to the development and growth of the ecotoxicology offering to both internal and external clients.
Qualifications
  1. Experience in regulatory ecotoxicology.
  2. Applied knowledge of UK and EU chemical regulations, particularly REACH, CLP, and BPR.

  4. Experience as a study monitor for all REACH Annex testing packages.
  5. Experience in evaluating and summarizing ecotoxicology data and environmental risk assessments for regulatory submissions.
  6. Experience communicating and liaising with EU regulatory bodies.
  7. Significant experience in a professional business environment, preferably within chemical regulation.
  8. Strong commercial understanding and client relationship management skills.
  9. Competence in standard software packages, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, as well as those specific to chemical regulations like IUCLID, CHESAR, and QSAR.
