Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Environmental Health Specialist to join our Food Safety Team in the East Midlands. As an officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

About the Role

This is a contract position initially for 6 months, with the potential to extend. You will be responsible for carrying out high and low-risk inspections, as well as reactive work. If you have a passion for public health and excellent communication skills, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out routine and non-routine inspections of food premises, restaurants, and other establishments
  • Investigate complaints and incidents related to food safety
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure effective enforcement of health and safety regulations
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • A strong understanding of environmental health principles and practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
