Behaviour Mentor - Behaviour Support Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join our team in supporting students with managing their behaviour and developing positive coping strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist students in managing their behaviour and cultivating effective coping mechanisms.
  • Conduct one-on-one and group mentoring sessions for students exhibiting challenging behaviours.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents/guardians, and external professionals to implement tailored behaviour intervention plans.
  • Monitor and track student progress, making adjustments to support strategies as necessary.
  • Create and maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students facing behavioural challenges in an educational context.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective engagement with students, staff, and parents/guardians.
  • Demonstrated patience, empathy, and resilience when managing challenging situations.
  • Ability to implement effective behaviour management techniques and de-escalation strategies.
  • A genuine passion for promoting the social and emotional well-being of students.
