Principal Ecologist

**Infrastructure Ecologist Job Description**

ZipRecruiter is seeking an experienced Senior Ecologist to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and delivering a range of office and site-based ecological services to achieve positive project outcomes on UK infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinating and delivering a range of office and site-based ecological services to achieve positive project outcomes.
• Delivering high-quality ecology work on UK infrastructure projects, including field surveys, habitat mitigation, BNG assessments, and protected species surveys.
• Maintaining detailed knowledge of relevant UK/EU environmental legislation and ensuring compliance.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years commercial experience as an ecologist, holding at least 1 protected species licence.
• Prior experience working on UK infrastructure projects, preferably with highways projects.
• Proficient in field surveys, habitat mitigation, BNG assessments, and protected species surveys.
• Detailed knowledge of relevant UK/EU environmental legislation and confidence in discussing these with clients.
• Hold a full and clean UK driving licence.
