As a Bid Management Specialist at Walker Morris LLP, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our legal teams to win high-quality work and promote our brand.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced professional with a strong background in bid management to join our small, dedicated Bids team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and creating bids and proposals, working closely with lawyers to evaluate opportunities, develop win strategies, and manage document inputs from others.

You will also support the Bid & Proposals Manager on complex bids, attend meetings, and own parts of the process and document. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing the bid pipeline, helping the firm to understand which opportunities are on the horizon and actively pursue those opportunities before the bid arrives.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of best practices in bidding, including bid processes, evaluation of opportunities, developing win strategies, and debriefing. They will also possess exceptional time and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize workloads and maintain an excellent eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and create bids and proposals, working closely with lawyers to evaluate opportunities and develop win strategies.
  • Support the Bid & Proposals Manager on complex bids, attending meetings and owning parts of the process and document.
  • Manage the bid pipeline, helping the firm to understand which opportunities are on the horizon and actively pursuing those opportunities before the bid arrives.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with stakeholders across the firm, serving as an advisor to help address their challenges.
Requirements
  • At least 4 years of experience in a similar bids role, ideally in a legal or other professional services environment.
  • Deep understanding of best practices in bidding, including bid processes, evaluation of opportunities, developing win strategies, and debriefing.
  • Exceptional time and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize workloads and maintain an excellent eye for detail.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Able to influence and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of MS packages, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Experience of Adobe InDesign is an advantage but not essential.

  • Estimated Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
