About the Role

Somerset's Deaf Community needs your support Spark-A-Change Foundation is looking for a Hearing Aid Maintenance Assistant to join our team. This role requires 2-4 hours of commitment per month, starting from June 2024, and offers an estimated salary of £10.50 per hour.

In this position, you will be working alongside our RNID volunteers to help individuals with hearing loss or tinnitus maintain their hearing aids and access essential information. Your duties will include cleaning hearing aids, replacing batteries, and providing guidance on their use.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, has excellent communication skills, and is willing to learn about deaf culture and sign language. As a Hearing Aid Maintenance Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for vulnerable adults in Somerset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning and maintaining hearing aids
  • Replacing batteries and tubing as needed
  • Providing tips and guidance on hearing aid usage
  • Assisting with online hearing checks and providing feedback
  • Supporting fundraising efforts to improve services for the deaf community
  • Contributing to administrative tasks to ensure seamless service delivery
