Financial Controller Job Description

At The One Group, we are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day finance operations across both the UK and US offices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare accurate monthly management accounts for the Group.
  • Manage the day-to-day finance function for the UK.
  • Supervise one direct report and work closely with other departments for sales and purchasing data.
  • Provide financial and HR reports for the Managing Director and Finance Director.
  • Oversee outsourced payroll and ensure timely invoicing in line with Incoterms and contracts.
  • Maintain financial controls and report any issues to the Finance Director.
  • Deliver commercial insights from finance data and prepare annual budgets and strategic plans.
  • Manage year-end processes and liaise with auditors.
  • Ensure accurate processing of supplier invoices and payments, and perform credit checks and manage overdue accounts.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and support management reporting.
  • Coordinate stocktake and ensure accurate valuation.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant with strong communication skills and the ability to work across all levels of the business.
  • Hands-on approach with the ability to manage a variety of tasks from transactional to preparation of accounts.
  • Ability to work to deadlines in a timely manner and competent IT skills, with knowledge of Dynamics a plus.
