Backend Engineer Opportunity at Ronald James Ltd.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including frontend engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders, to ensure seamless integration between the frontend and backend components.
  • Server-Side Development: Write, test, and maintain server-side code and APIs, ensuring reliability and efficiency.
  • Performance and Security: Collaborate with senior engineers to enhance system performance, reduce latency, and maintain data security by implementing robust security practices.
  • Web Technologies and Best Practices: Expertise in web service architectures, including REST (GraphQL is a plus), asynchronous messaging, and formats like JSON to facilitate effective data exchange.
  • NoSQL Database Experience: Familiarity with NoSQL databases, particularly MongoDB and ElasticSearch, for efficient data management.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Proficiency in writing unit and integration tests to ensure code reliability, maintainability, and robustness.
  • AWS and Cloud Technologies: Knowledge of AWS, including CloudFormation and Lambda, to facilitate cloud-based application deployment.
  • Containerization and CI/CD: Familiarity with container technologies like Docker, enabling consistent and portable application deployment, and understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment practices for efficient and reliable software delivery.
  • Agile Methodologies and DevOps: Previous experience working in Agile environments, demonstrating adaptability and the ability to deliver high-quality software in iterative cycles, and experience with DevOps practices, including automating deployment processes, managing infrastructure, and orchestrating development workflows to streamline software delivery.
