Key Responsibilities:
- Control and organise the flow of materials into production areas.
- Plan capacity in terms of forecasting, labour, resources, and machinery.
- Organise and plan sales orders to ensure efficient production.
- Perform administrative tasks such as updating manufacturing order dates and expediting orders as required.
- Liaise with sales, purchasing, production, and warehouse departments to update on changes and monitor stock availability.
- Monitor internal and external rejects to control volume and reduce impact.
- Maintain company documentation and develop processes and procedures.
- Propose and suggest changes to improve production flow and capability.
- Report on KPIs such as on-time production, reworks, output, and labour efficiency.
- Ensure on-time delivery performance and develop internal systems for continual improvement.
- Produce and update working guides for the role and provide cover for other Production Planners.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Excellent communication, IT, and organisational skills.
- A data-driven approach with a strong understanding of Excel.
- Ability to plan ahead and anticipate and overcome problems.
- Experience in compiling detailed working schedules.
- Strong liaison skills with the ability to influence other departments.
- Planning and analytical skills with a focus on problem-solving.
- Quick decision-making abilities.
- Willingness to embrace and adapt to change.
- Ability to prioritise, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated with good time management and a drive for continuous improvement.
Working Hours:37.5 hours per week, with a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of the production team.
