Main Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for delivering high-quality childcare and education to children aged 0-5 years. As a Senior Early Years Practitioner, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day running of your room, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for children, staff, and visitors.
Key Duties
To deliver and maintain high standards of learning, development, and care for children aged 0-5 years.
To lead and manage the day-to-day running of your room, including the implementation of a daily routine and the provision of high-quality teaching and learning experiences.
To ensure that your room is a safe and welcoming environment for children, staff, and visitors, adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations.
To develop partnerships with parents and carers to increase their involvement in their child's development.
To work collaboratively with the Nursery Manager and other Senior Early Years Practitioners to achieve the goals and objectives of the nursery.
To maintain accurate records of children's progress and development.
To be responsible for the effective management of your room team, providing guidance and support as needed.
Person Specification
Qualifications
Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years or equivalent.
Experience and Skills
A minimum of 1 year's experience of working in a nursery or similar environment.
Excellent knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and current Ofsted framework.
Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to use written English to write reports and keep accurate records.
Basic administrative and IT skills.
Personal Style and Behaviour
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure.
Able to work on own initiative.
Calm and caring nature.
Empathy and understanding of children under 5 years old.
Reliable and enthusiastic.
Additional Requirements
Paediatric first aid training.
Safeguarding training.
Food hygiene training.
