As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and safety. You will work closely with our General Manager and Activities Coordinator to deliver exceptional dining experiences for our residents.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage a full kitchen team, including a second chef and kitchen assistants, to ensure efficient kitchen operations and adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Develop and implement menus that cater to the diverse needs and preferences of our residents, using fresh, locally sourced ingredients and innovative presentation techniques.
- Monitor supplier performance, negotiate prices, and implement cost-effective stock control systems to minimize waste and ensure budgetary compliance.
- Maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen and food storage areas, adhering to food hygiene regulations and ensuring a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with the General Manager to resolve any complaints or issues related to the catering service.
- Participate in events and activities held in the home, working with the General Manager and Activities Coordinator to ensure nutrition and hydration needs are met, as well as social aspects of such events.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A Level 3 in Catering or equivalent QCF qualification.
- A working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure.
- Reasonable access outside working hours in emergency situations.
