Nursing Home Administrator Job Description

Cedar Care Homes Ltd is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Nursing Home Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for promoting occupancy, quality, efficiency, and organization in the day-to-day management of our nursing home.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a tidy office and efficient systems by filing all documents, paper and electronic, as per Cedar Care management systems.
  • Assist the manager in regular archiving activities, disposing or destroying out of date documents, files and information.
  • Ensure all confidential documents are filed and protected as per policy.
  • Conduct the admission process of Residents as per Cedar Care policies and procedures, taking enquires from potential residents and their families and arranging viewings of the home.
  • Give tours of the home when required and complete all non-clinical requirements of the admission procedure.
  • Recruitment procedures are completed efficiently and thoroughly, assist in the induction and orientation of new staff, ordering and distributing staff uniforms and badges.
  • Maintain an up-to-date staff register and keep the head office informed of any changes regarding staff.
  • Calculate staff working hours accurately and within required time scales.
  • Assist the manager in producing duty rosters, keeping accurate records of staff absence and sickness.
  • Liaise with the maintenance staff to ensure the repair or maintenance requirements are met.
Requirements:
  • NVQ in Administration or Office Management (or equivalent).
  • The ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and pay attention to detail.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with residents and their relatives, internal departments, staff members, and external agencies.
  • Strong organization skills, computer literate, and reliability.
  • A good knowledge of and experience of working with Excel, Word, and Outlook.
