Job Description:

Teaching Personnel is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the role of Lead Cover Supervisor. This position is responsible for supporting our schools in the day-to-day organization and delivery of cover services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Cover Arrangements: Oversee the arrangement and sorting of daily cover, ensuring that cover supervisors are assigned to lessons that require coverage.
  • Relationship Management: Maintain relationships with supply agencies to ensure that supply teachers are sourced appropriately.
  • Forecasting: Forecast school cover needs for each week, ensuring that adequate arrangements are made.
  • Lesson Delivery: Deliver pre-prepared lessons to classes in the absence of teachers.
Position Details:
  • Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, with a 7am start. Cover arrangements must be checked and ready by 7:50am, before being communicated to the staff body at 8am.
  • Contract Type: Permanent, term-time only, plus school training days.
  • Variable Hours: Contract between 25-35 hours per week.
  • Pay: To scale.
  • Reporting Line: This role reports to a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: NVQ level 3 or above qualification appropriate to the post, or relevant experience.
  • English and Maths: Level 2 in English and Maths, or evidence of working at this level.
  • IT and Literacy Skills: Very good IT, numeracy, and literacy skills.
  • Professional Development: Willingness to undertake further professional development.
  • Classroom Experience: Previous experience of working in a classroom environment with students.
  • Safeguarding: Experience of procedures relating to child protection and safeguarding.
