Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join our team at Printed. As a Data Scientist, you will be responsible for building and deploying machine learning models that drive key business outcomes. These models will be integrated into various systems, including our website, reporting tools, and analytics platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Model Development:
    • Design, develop, and optimize machine learning models to solve business challenges such as customer segmentation, predictive analytics, and recommendations.
    • Utilize Python and SQL for data preprocessing, feature engineering, model training, and validation.
    • Experiment with a variety of algorithms and techniques to enhance model accuracy and performance.
  • Data Analysis and Feature Engineering:
    • Conduct in-depth data analysis to extract insights and identify trends that inform model development.
    • Engineer and select features that improve model performance, ensuring relevance and robustness.
    • Collaborate with the data engineering team to guarantee that clean, well-structured data is available for model training and evaluation.
  • Model Deployment Collaboration:
    • Work in close collaboration with the Senior Data Engineer to prepare models for production, ensuring they meet all criteria for deployment within the data platform.
    • Engage in rigorous testing and validation processes to ensure models are ready for scaling and integration across various business applications.
  • Technical Focus and Development:
    • Maintain a strong focus on the technical aspects of model development, including code optimization, algorithm selection, and scalability.
    • Collaborate with the data engineering team to ensure that the necessary infrastructure and pipelines are in place to support machine learning initiatives.
    • Leverage the project management team to coordinate project requirements, timelines, and deliverables, allowing you to concentrate on technical excellence.
  • Evaluation and Monitoring:
    • Implement ongoing evaluation processes to monitor the performance of deployed models, ensuring they remain effective and relevant.
    • Make data-driven recommendations for model improvements and adapt to changes in data or business needs.
    • Develop and maintain documentation for model development, including methodologies, assumptions, and outcomes.

Requirements:

Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Data Scientist, with a proven ability to develop and deploy machine learning models in a production environment.
  • Expertise in Python (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch) and SQL.
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud services, particularly those relevant to data science and machine learning.
  • Strong background in working with large datasets and applying advanced statistical methods.

Skills:

  • Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms, model evaluation techniques, and statistical analysis.
  • Proficiency in data wrangling, feature engineering, and developing scalable machine learning solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering practical, high-impact solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills for articulating complex technical concepts to team members.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively within a data-driven team environment.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with AWS and Databricks.
  • Familiarity with big data tools like Apache Spark or Hadoop.
  • Knowledge of deep learning techniques and their application to real-world problems.
  • Experience with A/B testing and experimental design.
