Role Overview

The Senior Rights Executive - Digital works closely with the Rights Manager - Digital to promote the widest possible exploitation of ITV's content. This involves recording and maintaining rights data, advising on the availability and cost of exploiting rights, and supporting ITV's sales and distribution arms through the documentation, governance, and administration of rights exploitation.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with the Rights Manager - Digital to oversee activities and requests of the Rights Digital team.
  2. Be responsible for interpreting, inputting, and verifying rights information for all ITV content into ITV's rights and talent payment systems according to agreed policies and standards.
  3. Prioritize and assess availability, offering accurate clearance and cost information to all exploitation areas within company deadlines.
  4. Assist ITV's sales and distribution arms in creating and maintaining licences where necessary.
  5. Support the Rights Manager in monitoring adherence to policies and standards in line with relevant KPIs.
  6. Develop strong working relationships with partners to ensure the continuous flow of rights information into the department.
  7. Work closely with Talent and Royalty Payments, offering authority to pay by inputting and verifying rights and talent data in relevant systems.
  8. Contribute to system development and design related to Rights Management activity, collaborating with the Head of Rights Management and the Rights Manager.
  9. Provide solutions to rights clearance and cost issues, and undertake rights renewals and risk assessments as needed, in consultation with the Head of Rights Management and Rights Manager.
  10. Deliver services in accordance with any Service Level Agreements managed by Rights.
  11. Maintain awareness of rights & talent union issues through information circulated within Rights and Business Affairs.
  12. Stay up-to-date with new media platforms, social media distribution, and their roles in ITV's business strategy.

Requirements:

  1. Experience in Rights Management.
  2. Commercial awareness and ability to balance risk, sales urgency, and business expectations from a Rights perspective.
  3. Excellent organisational and information management skills.
  4. Driven, with interest in TV and new and evolving platforms.
  5. Supervisory skills with ability to oversee activity across a team.
  6. Service excellence and networking skills - effective communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills with ability to build successful working relationships at all levels.
  7. Accuracy and attention to detail.
  8. Strong literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
  9. Experienced user of the PARIS and Genersys systems (or equivalent rights systems).
