Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and caring Practice Nurse to join our team at Holmhurst Medical Centre. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to our patients.
Main Duties
- Provide and maintain a high standard of nursing care for patients, as well as providing nursing assistance to senior nurses, GPs, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by the Nurse Manager and GPs.
About Us
Holmhurst Medical Centre is a purpose-built modern building with a pharmacy on site, located on the edge of the Surrey countryside. We are a member of a PCN and Dorking Healthcare Federation, with a 3-partner GMS practice and an increasing list size of 10,200 patients.
Job Responsibilities
- Administers adult and child immunisations and vaccinations in accordance with national and local programmes, and competent and up to date with anaphylaxis and resuscitation techniques.
- Undertakes procedures to include venepuncture, basic wound care, BP management, urinalysis, peak flow, spirometry, stitch/clip removal, and cervical smears.
- Works within all relevant practice policies and procedural guidelines, including infection control, chaperoning, and patient group directions.
- Initiates the process of diagnosis with patients suspected to have a chronic disease, such as diabetes, COPD, asthma, or CHD, and refers to other clinicians as appropriate.
- Manages programmes of care for patients with chronic diseases by planning, providing, and evaluating care under agreed local/national guidelines, protocols, and patient group directions.
