Reed are recruiting on behalf of a leading client based near Yeovil, seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Tax Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing the tax compliance and advisory services for their clients.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of tax regulations, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to lead and mentor a team of tax professionals.

  • The salary for this role is estimated to be around £65,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
About the Role

This Tax Manager role involves:

  • Managing and overseeing the preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, businesses, and other entities.
  • Providing strategic tax planning and advisory services to clients to optimize their tax positions.
  • Ensuring compliance with all tax laws and regulations, staying up-to-date with changes and developments.
  • Conducting tax research and analysis to support client needs and internal projects.
  • Developing and maintaining strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on tax matters.
  • Leading and mentoring a team of tax professionals, providing guidance and support for their professional development.
  • Collaborating with other departments within the firm to provide comprehensive financial services to clients.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of tax policies and procedures.
  • Representing clients in tax audits and disputes, liaising with tax authorities as necessary.
Requirements

To be considered for this Tax Manager role, you will need:

  • Studying towards ATT or CTA qualification.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in tax management within an accountancy practice.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage and lead a team.
  • Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A high level of integrity and professionalism.
