We are seeking a skilled Counsellor to join our team in Birmingham, West Midlands. As a Child Sexual Exploitation Counsellor, you will provide specialist support to children and young people who have been subjected to or are at risk of sexual exploitation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer boundaried relational and trauma-informed counselling to children and young people aged 5 to 17 years who have been subjected to or are at risk of sexual exploitation.
- Provide specialist counselling and wellbeing support to parents, carers, and families who are supporting children and young people subjected to sexual exploitation.
- Develop and deliver a group for supporters (parents, carers, and families) who are supporting children and young people subjected to sexual exploitation.
- Work actively with children and young people subjected to sexual exploitation.
- Offer counselling/therapy tailored to the individual needs and abilities of each young person.
- Be aware of any safeguarding issues at all times and deal with them in a timely and professional manner.
About the Role:
This is an outreach-based role, requiring frequent travel across Birmingham to support children and young people in spaces where they feel safe. A small number of hours will be working from our Birmingham City Centre premises.
