About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Lecturer in Quantity Surveying and Construction to join our team at De Montfort University. As a Programme Leader for the BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying & Construction programme, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and research in the field of quantity surveying and construction.

The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in quantity surveying, with extensive knowledge of the core quantity surveying role, including measurement of building works, cost estimating and tendering, procurement and professional quantity surveying practices and contract and law. You will also have an awareness of the current HE education context in the UK and abroad.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality teaching and research in quantity surveying and construction
  • Lead the BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying & Construction programme
  • Develop and implement curriculum changes to ensure programme relevance and quality
  • Contribute to the development of research and knowledge exchange activities in the Built Environment
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a PhD in a context appropriate to the Built Environment (or soon to be completed PhD, or equivalent qualification, or equivalent practice-based experience) and be able to undertake independent research. You should also have a working understanding of RICS accreditation and be a chartered member of RICS or be able to achieve chartered membership within a reasonable, short period of appointment.
