We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Swim Team Leader to join our team at Sporting House in Durham School.

This exciting role offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic and growing organization, delivering high-quality swimming lessons and experiences to children and adults.

As a Swim Team Leader, you will be responsible for supervising the safety of our swimming lesson provision, delivering lifesaving and first aid provision, and ensuring excellent standards of customer experience and facilities.

You will work closely with our teaching team, using technology to support and engage customers, and contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.

This role requires flexibility, with a focus on weekday evening and weekend hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide lifeguard duties for learn to swim lessons for 0-11 year olds, ranging from non-swimmers to competent swimmers.
  • Plan, deliver, and review high-quality, themed learn to swim lessons to 3-11 years, babies, and adults.
  • Deliver exceptional customer care to every swimmer and family member in and out of the water.
  • Ensure the safe provision of all equipment usage, storage, cleaning, and maintenance.
  • Complete and record electronically all relevant health and safety checks as assigned on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis by the swim@ manager.
  • Help maintain the facility to a high standard at all times by ensuring the centre is clean and safe for all users and staff.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to personal development through training, observation, and feedback on performance to ensure high standards of delivery.
  • Be a positive role model for young people, encouraging them to reach their full swimming potential.
  • Deliver the swim@ experience, including servicing customer enquires, showing potential customers round the centre, driving memberships, and attending regular training with the swim@ team to share best practice and ensure high standards of delivery are maintained.
  • Giving out award badges and certificates to celebrate swimmers' achievements.
  • To abide by a code of conduct and carry out duties in accordance with all swim@ policies, including equal opportunities, safeguarding children, health and safety at work, operational procedures, etc. (training provided).
