About the Role
SOCOTEC UK Limited is seeking a skilled CDM and Health and Safety Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the Health and Safety of all who might be affected by our work, including members of the public, under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and other associated legislation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide effective CDM and H&S services on various projects, managing procedures and liaising with stakeholders
- Prepare customer quotations and help clients select the appropriate CDM or H&S services based on project complexity and risk
- Collaborate with design teams to identify hazards, facilitate risk workshops and find mitigation measures
- Ensure key project information is available to team members throughout the project lifecycle
- Coordinate with the construction team to exchange health and safety information and implement mitigation measures
- Prepare final H&S files in line with client requirements and proactively manage and close projects
- Meet agreed KPIs and actively promote SOCOTEC's services, with supporting quality processes and raising concerns to management when needed
- Attend relevant committees, promote positive performance and effectively manage resources and communication methods
- Ensure excellent customer service and flag business development opportunities
- Participate in marketing efforts, foster positive relationships with colleagues and customers and engage in performance appraisals
- Involve management in high-profile meetings, assist with graduate and apprentice training and support quality audits
Requirements
- Qualifications: NEBOSH Construction preferred, TechIOSH minimum, working towards GradIOSH, or willing to pursue with evidence of CPD
- Experience: 5+ years in CDM across various projects, with a focus on designer, client and contractor duties
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of CDM regulations, site safety practices, and technical construction, maintenance and demolition
- Skills: Excellent written and oral communication, proficient in Microsoft Office/CRM, strong organisational skills, detailed record-keeping and commitment to service improvements
- Other: Knowledge of safety management systems. A full driving licence is required.
