Job Title: Higher Level Science Teaching AssistantJob Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Higher Level Science Teaching Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a key member of our science department, you will play a vital role in supporting our teachers in delivering high-quality lessons and providing exceptional support to our students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the science department in delivering high-quality lessons and assessments
  • Assist in preparing practical experiments and demonstrations, ensuring a safe and engaging learning environment
  • Provide one-on-one support to students who require extra help, promoting academic success and confidence
  • Help maintain laboratory equipment and resources, ensuring they are in good working order
  • Supervise students during laboratory sessions, promoting a safe and respectful environment
  • Assist in the assessment and grading of student work, providing constructive feedback
  • Support the teacher in classroom management and behaviour management, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment
Requirements:
  • A relevant degree in a science-related field, demonstrating a strong understanding of scientific principles
  • Previous experience working in a school or educational setting, showcasing your ability to work effectively with students and staff
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Teaching Assistant qualification, demonstrating your commitment to education and student support
  • First Aid certification, ensuring you can provide essential care and support in the event of an emergency
Working Conditions:

As a Higher Level Science Teaching Assistant, you will work in a school environment, with full-time hours and potential for some evening or weekend work for school events or meetings. You will be required to stand for long periods and may need to lift equipment, so a reasonable level of physical fitness is essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
