Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Depot Manager to lead our Barking depot team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the depot runs smoothly and efficiently, meeting all targets and health and safety guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain first-class standards in all aspects of depot operations
  • Manage a team of 14 staff members, providing coaching and training to ensure they can perform to the best of their abilities
  • Supervise stock takes and act as custodian of all assets across the depot
  • Support the Sales team and provide operational support to the senior leadership team
  • Ensure all deliveries are made on time and to the correct specification
  • Manage the depot's budget and resources effectively
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve depot performance and efficiency
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and workflow

Requirements:

  • Experience in the tool hire industry or a related field
  • Proven track record of managing a team and achieving targets
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions
  • Good IT literacy, including Excel and Word
  • A current driving license
