Job Title: Network Infrastructure Manager

We are seeking an experienced Network Infrastructure Manager to join our team at UK Power Networks. As a key member of our Information Systems Group, you will be responsible for defining and delivering our UKPN Communication Network Strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of network professionals in designing, implementing, and supporting our communication networks.
  • Develop and implement network procedures to support our UKPN Communications Network Strategy.
  • Evaluate new technology and provide expertise within the communications network space.
  • Manage the budget allocated to network infrastructure, ensuring cost-effectiveness and return on investment.
  • Partner with third-party suppliers to ensure they represent value for money and are held to account for the quality of their products and services.

Requirements:

  • Experience managing Communication Network capability and a degree in IT or Electrical field or equivalent industry qualifications/experience.
  • Technical proficiency in telecommunications, DWDM, Optical Transport Networks, SDH, IP network design, LAN and WAN technologies, and familiarity with on-prem and cloud technologies.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the capability to anticipate potential issues and implement solutions.
  • Budget management and resource allocation experience to maximise the effectiveness of technology investments.
  • Regulatory knowledge and understanding of the regulatory environment impacting OT infrastructure, with an emphasis on compliance and cyber security.
