Project Planner Role

We are seeking a skilled Project Planner to support our critical automation projects within the automotive industry.

As a Project Planner, you will work closely with our project management team to develop detailed schedules, keep these schedules current, and seamlessly integrate them into our Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).

You will develop resource-loaded project schedules using the Performance Work Statement (PWS), technical proposal, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), and directions from project managers and technical leads.

You will create and maintain linkages, dependencies, and inter-dependencies with related projects, ensuring internal and external dependencies are documented and tracked for risk management.

You will identify and track major milestones, gates, decision points, and key project events; communicating and presenting critical paths, setting and maintaining the schedule baseline, and regularly tracking and communicating all changes to the baselined schedule.

You will perform schedule estimating through elicitation of team members and other stakeholders to capture estimations of new work, updated actuals, and remaining work, perform 'what if' scenarios within the schedule, apply critical thinking, and present alternate solutions as schedule risks arise.

You will champion and support continuous Risk Mitigation and Issue Management through schedule analysis, drive innovation, and champion best practices, and generate a weekly suite of schedule products and reports, including full IMS views, summary views, critical paths, planned vs actual work, and various schedule metrics.

About the Role

This is a permanent position with a salary range of £35k to £45k depending on experience.

We offer paid overtime over 40 hours per week, and Project Managers can expect to earn significant increments, commonly up to 50% of their salary.

About You

You will have in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Projects and an understanding of cross-site and enterprise-level planning and implementation practices, with a broad knowledge of project management activities.

You will be comfortable in both independent and collaborative working, customer-driven, and flexible in approach.

You will be able to conduct efficient, organized systems processing and analysis, and have excellent communication skills, able to gather and present information to relevant stakeholders both verbally and in writing.

Requirements

You must be able to obtain and maintain BPSS clearance.
