About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Assistant to join our team at the Beacon and Cornerstone Arts Centres. As a key member of our technical department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of performances and events across both venues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare auditoriums and other spaces for performances and events, including setting up technical and other equipment.
  • Act as Duty Technician and venue point-of-contact for visiting companies and hirers.
  • Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of technical equipment.
  • Operate live shows in a variety of roles to a high standard for companies/hirers without their own crew.
  • Work with visiting companies and hirers to ensure the show or event is presented to the highest standards expected by our audiences.
  • Perform other technical and building maintenance jobs around the venues, including room set ups & take downs.
Requirements
  • Experience of operating sound, lighting and AV equipment in a professional venue, tour, or live events setting.
  • Experience of working on a range of genres – music, theatre, comedy, dance, children's shows, and talks.
  • A positive and pro-active approach along with a keen eye for detail and an aptitude for problem solving.
  • The ability to prioritise workload and schedule accordingly.
  • Good technical maintenance skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral with a range of users including; visiting companies, hirers and other departments.
