About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Power Supply Engineer for Automotive Applications to join our team. As a power supply engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of automotive electrical systems.
About the Job:
This is a long-term contract role with one of our globally recognized automotive clients based in Cranfield. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Electrical & Electronic (EE) Test team with tasks related to the validation of power supply architecture reliability, circuit confirmation of electronic parts, and layout confirmation of the wiring loom and harness parts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the EE Test team with tasks related to power supply validation.
- Validating power supply architecture reliability.
- Confirming circuit reliability of electronic parts.
- Verifying layout accuracy of wiring loom and harness parts.
- Developing testing procedures and confirming vehicle specifications.
- Coordinating vehicle tests and serving as technical lead/project leader when necessary.
- Formally reporting test results to design sections and senior management.
- Investigating root causes and recommending countermeasures.
- Providing technical support to the production plant when required.
- Occasionally supporting field investigations.
- Managing supplier activities.
- Generating test/investigation reports and validating commodities within project milestones.
Requirements:
- Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
- Understanding of electrical theory and operation of electronic devices.
- Experience with harness/EDS layout and application.
- Ability to follow system circuit diagrams and identify electrical connections.
- Demonstrated practical experience with problem-solving tools and techniques.
- Experience with automotive CAD tools.
Work Arrangements:
- Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week.
- Hourly rate: £27.00 p/h.
