About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Malvern, PA. This role involves collaborating with colleagues, vendors, and customers to overcome technical challenges. As a key member of our engineering team, you will develop innovative mechanical and electromechanical products using SolidWorks 3D CAD for equipment, systems, and components used in the fire sprinkler industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive specifications for new products and product improvements.
  • Create CAD models, manufacturing assembly drawings, and BOMs ensuring they meet proper standards and specifications.
  • Perform necessary calculations to verify design validity.
  • Determine costs for fabrication, manufacturing, assembly, and testing of new products.
  • Design, assemble, and test working prototypes.
  • Produce clear, concise, and comprehensive instructions for assembling and testing by manufacturing staff.
  • Create clear, concise, and comprehensive installations for customers.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and marketing personnel on new product launches.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing issues.
  • Inspect incoming inventory and evaluate in-house production assemblies.
  • Define packaging/boxing of new products and improve packaging of existing products.
Requirements

We require a Mechanical Engineering degree, preferably BSME, and 5-10 years of experience in a design engineering role. Sprinkler industry experience is desirable but not necessary. You should have a creative approach to generating new ideas and solving design issues. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

  • Experience with electromechanical product design including PLC ladder logic and control panel fabrication.
  • Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, and geometry, and their applications in engineering.
  • Able to produce work consistently to a high standard and within deadlines.
  • Familiarity with using basic inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, thread and plug gauges.
  • Excellent knowledge of SolidWorks 3D CAD software and CSWP certification.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Compensation

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 per year, based on industry standards and location. Benefits include health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
