About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Carbon Removal Specialist to join our team at Isometric. As a key member of our science team, you will play a critical role in developing cutting-edge solutions to combat climate change.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Carbon Removal Strategies: Collaborate with our team of world-class scientists to design and implement effective carbon removal strategies, focusing on terrestrial carbon storage in biomass.
  • Analyze and Synthesize Data: Conduct comprehensive literature reviews, assess supplier data, and apply modeling techniques to review project baselines, counterfactuals, and system boundaries to support project validation and verification processes and credit issuances.
  • Collaborate on Research: Engage with academia, national labs, and industry partners to stay abreast of the latest research and develop approaches to incorporate evolving science into the Isometric MRV protocol development process.
  • Mentor and Support the Team: Foster and contribute to a culture within the science team that emphasizes scientific rigor, pragmatism, and ecosystem building through mentorship and collaboration.
Requirements
  • A PhD degree or nearing completion of a PhD program in ecology, biology, environmental & earth sciences, or a related field.
  • A research portfolio focused on terrestrial carbon storage in biomass.
  • A collaborative working style and a passion for innovation, with a commitment to upholding the highest scientific standards in tackling challenges related to carbon removal and storage.
