About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team at a special needs school in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and personal development of our students with complex needs, including ASD, behavioural difficulties, and SEMH needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with special educational needs, promoting their academic and personal growth.
  • Assist the classroom teacher in planning and delivering tailored lessons and activities, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Support students with personal care and promote independence, fostering a sense of confidence and self-worth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to ensure the holistic development of each student, addressing their individual needs and goals.
Requirements
  • A degree in Arts, sensory, therapy, or drama, or equivalent experience in a special needs setting.
  • Proven ability to work with students with complex needs, using creative strategies to engage and support their learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
