We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to join our CRR analytics team at Howden Group Holdings, focusing on the development of financial risk models that address climate and nature risk issues for our clients.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in the collection, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of quantitative data, directly supporting our efforts to provide innovative and accurate financial risk assessments.
Key Responsibilities- Collect and analyze large geographic and time series data, including weather data, geo-demographics, and economic trending data.
- Develop and maintain robust financial risk models, incorporating climate and nature risk factors.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data-driven insights inform business decisions.
- Communicate complex data findings to stakeholders at all levels, using effective data presentation and visualization skills.
- At least a 2:1 degree in an appropriate subject, such as geography, civil engineering, finance, econometrics, or applied mathematics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong numeracy, quantitative, and organizational skills, with experience working with large datasets.
- Proficiency in geographical and statistical tools, such as QGIS, ESRI, MATLAB, and R.
- Some experience with programming languages, such as Python.
- Interest or experience in insurance and finance, green investment, and clean technologies.
- Experience in climate-related issues and applications, including physical, economic, social, and nature-based risks.
- Understanding of risk management, disaster risk reduction, and associated socio-economic and financial themes.
- Data presentation and visualization skills, with experience in creating engaging and informative reports.
