
Research Nurse Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Research Nurse to join our team at the NIHR Clinical Research Facility (CRF) at Guy's and St. Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 or experienced Band 5 nurse to develop clinical research skills and contribute to delivering high-quality clinical trials.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience working within a ward environment as a qualified nurse, with a strong background in clinical research and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
The role involves carrying out planned care required by clinical trials protocols, ensuring patient safety, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate expert research nursing care for patients participating in clinical trials.
- Recruit patients to clinical trials, facilitate their involvement, and ensure informed consent is obtained.
- Work closely with healthcare professionals to provide education and support on caring for clinical trial patients.
- Maintain accurate documentation in clinical trial documents and patient notes.
- Contribute to the overall control of the ward or departmental budget and identify areas for cost improvement.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Level 1 NMC Registered Nurse qualification.
- Relevant specialist course or equivalent experience (e.g., SACT).
- Extensive experience working within a ward environment as a qualified nurse.
- Knowledge of research methodologies, quality, standard setting, benchmarking, and audit.
- Competency in medication administration, including IV drugs.
- Organisation and management skills, with the ability to lead a team.
