Charge for accommodation: 64 GBP per week

Type of contract: Permanent

Workplace description: Our hotel is situated in a rural location, just off junction 14 of the M5, offering easy access to Bristol and the Cotswold countryside. The hotel features 46 ensuite bedrooms, each furnished to a high standard. Our restaurant menu showcases the best of local, seasonal produce, while the adjacent bar provides a cozy atmosphere for enjoying a morning coffee, bar snack, or afternoon tea.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Assist and support the head chef in food preparation
  • Prepare starters and vegetables
  • Coordinate banqueting events alongside the banquet manager
  • Provide support to the restaurants sales and marketing team
  • Involved in the training of lower cadre staff
  • Help with menu planning
  • Oversee breakfast preparation and service
  • Meal preparation
  • Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation in the restaurant
  • Enforce safety, health, and hygiene standards in the kitchen
  • Troubleshoot any problems that may arise in the kitchen
  • Ensure that food goes to the customers in a timely manner
  • Manage and supervise the commis chefs that work under them

Essential criteria:

  • Must have the willingness and desire to learn
  • NVQs or equivalent would be advantageous
  • Experience of at least a demi Chef de Partie (or above) in a similar standard establishment
