Job Title: Research Manager - Biomedical Projects

At LGC Group, we are seeking a highly skilled Research Manager to join our team. As a Research Manager, you will be responsible for managing the full end-to-end process of research management, from launching new calls for applications through to contracting and active monitoring of funded projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Negotiating funding agreements for projects recommended for funding, including the negotiation of milestones, financial arrangements, and reporting requirements.
  • Managing a portfolio of funded projects, including monitoring of delivery progress and financial performance, reviewing intellectual property plans, and managing contractual changes.
  • Assisting in the preparation of regular and ad hoc programme reports, papers, and minutes.

Requirements:

  • A biomedical or health sciences degree.
  • Experience of working in a research management environment.
  • Experience of liaising with senior individuals in a variety of organisations.
  • Good knowledge of biomedical and health research disciplines.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Desirable Criteria:

  • M.Sc. or PhD in a biomedical field.
  • Experience of working on health-related international development projects supported by ODA funding.
  • A track record of successful management of international or remotely delivered projects involving multiple organisations.

Essential Competencies and Behaviours:

  • Ability to work to a high level of accuracy with great attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, able to prioritise and manage multiple tasks, working to challenging targets and deadlines.
